Stan Getz - Jazz - Tenor Saxophone
Stan Getz (1927-1991), is my favourite tenor saxophonist. His style was cool jazz and he was one
of the original Four Brothers in Woody Herman's Band. He is probably more famous for his bossa nova recordings, such as the Girl from Ipanema, One Note Samba and
Desafinado.
I had the opportunity to listen to Stan Getz live in Folkets Park, Karlstad, Sweden in the late 50s or early 60s and at a jazz club in Chicago in 1988.
